Pizza delivery brand Domino’s Pizza is set to launch a new Android ordering app as it reaches £10m of sales through mobile channels.
The company currently operates with an iPhone ordering app which was launched last September and has achieved over 500,000 downloads so far, while a mobile optimised website was introduced in December, extending the smartphone user reach.
As a result, the company has said that it has reached over £10 million sales through mobile ordering platforms, and has now launched a new app for Android.
Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director for Domino’s, said: “We’re always looking for innovative ways to allow our customers to order. We first launched online ordering ten years ago and, based on its phenomenal success, we were keen to capitalise on new opportunities created by mobile channels. Investing in this type of technology is now paying dividends for us, achieving pizza sales of over £10 million. With sales of Android phones reported to be up 810 per cent year on year*, we’re excited about what the future holds with the launch of our new app, which will allow even more pizza lovers to order on the move.”
The free-to-download app is similar to the iPhone app, including a carousel style menu which allows customers to select their favourite pizza and other foods offered by Domino’s. A real-time progress tracker is also available.
