Bath-based special-interest media group, Future has announced that a new preview element will be added at this years Golden Joystick Awards to mark the 30th anniversary of the event.

The Awards, which will take place at Westminster Bridge Park Plaza on Friday 21st October, will have renewed focus, previewing the games of the future as well as celebrating the best of the past year.

This years event will be partnered by UK gaming brand GamesMaster.

The Golden Joysticks are without a doubt the key awards event in the calendar, as they are voted for by the gaming public, says group publisher Simon Maxwell.

This year, we wanted to add even more potential to the mix. The partnership with GamesMaster makes perfect sense.

And bringing in the new experiential, forward-looking elements allows the Joysticks not just to celebrate the best of the last year, but to set the agenda for the coming one.

Named the Worlds Most Popular Videogames Awards by Guinness World Records in 2009, the Golden Joystick Awards attracted a best-ever 1.54 million votes in 2010.

Voting for the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards opens in summer 2011.
