Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles returns to TV after five years

The first TV campaign for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has begun to air over the weekend.

The 60-second spot has been created by Iris and ran during the coverage of the final matches of the Premier League season on Sky yesterday.

The campaign will also include radio and has been bought and planned by MediaCom.

Adrian Brook, media manager of Mediacom, commented: "Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has had a very close emotional connection with their drivers for over 60 years and this campaign aims to celebrate this relationship."

Rubbish, you could replace the product with anything. Why would anyone have any interest in buying a VW van after watching that? Also just looking at it from a creative angle, VW has produced some of the best TV ads of all time, this is a long way from any of them.

A total lack of strategy, product benefit, engagement and entertainment. A client known for believing in the power of creativity, shame the agency couldn't live up to that.

Isn't this really just the Ford Transit ads from a few years back only without the humour?

I was waiting for the classic VW twist and it never came. Very unquirky.
