Jewson releases Gloucester Rugby video by Big and The Gate Films

Jewson has created a behind-the-scenes video to celebrate its ongoing sponsorship of Gloucester Rugby Club. Watch it here.

The short film was created by Big Communications and The Gate Films and features club captain Mike Tindall showing off his range of ball skills.

"We are approaching our fifth season as the main sponsor of Gloucester Rugby and this film reflects the close relationship we have formed with the team as well as helping us to celebrate our 175th anniversary," said Bradley Moore, marketing services director at Jewson.

Craig Buzzel, creative director at Big, added: "The players got right behind what we set out to do, and as a result we’ve got a great little film that will appeal to more than just rugby fans."

The video was directed by The Gate's Cosmo Wallace and Will Herbert, and was produced by Phil Kerr.

I like it, and quite a coup to have Mike Tindall in it.

Not very original, eh chaps?

I do believe Adidas did the same rugby vid for the All Blacks, and then there's the NFL film, and then the David Bentley viral....

This is just a poor, poor rip-off of the All Blacks viral from a couple of years ago. Unlike the original, this is awkward, littered with bad gags, lacks class, technique and features a team that isn't particularly skilled to cap it all, removing any shred of believability.

What next - Nuneaton Borough recreating the Brazil national team Nike ad in Coventry Airport?

I like the ending. 'We can hit any target from any distance... Unless it's the mascot from ten yards away...'

As a rugby fan I love it - you should try and get it on Rugby Club on TV

Sorry, this is not a rip-off of the All Blacks. This was tactic used about five years ago by the NFL to support fantasy football. But as you can imagine, the NFL tactic was of much greater quality. I'm not one of those rip-off police, I mean, I think British sport could use quite a bit of inspiration from America. Not cheerleaders and fireworks, but fan engagement and promotion...

Britain is, and remains, in 1995 when it comes to league promotion. It's like the US are using iPhones and British sport is getting excited about the new Motorola flip phone.

What a terrible analogy, Paddy.
