The creators of a recipe book made up of 140-character recipes crowdsourced through Twitter is asking the public to choose the illustrations.

In a campaign launched by cooker manufacturer Belling, with help from its PR and social media agency Umpf, includes 50 recipes that have been chosen from over 200 supplied by members of the public.

These recipes will be accompanied by pictures chosen by the public on Facebook following a design project on CrowdSPRING, and will be made into ‘Tweet Pie: The world’s shortest recipe book’.

The campaign by Belling’s PR and Umpf came about from research by Belling which showed that Delia Smith was the chef who used the most words in her recipes.

Steve Dickson, Commercial Manager for Belling, said: “Having harvested our recipes through Twitter, we’re now asking the public to choose the illustrations for us via Facebook, making it a fully collaborative and engaging social media campaign.

“Our crowdsourced recipe book will be published this summer and we’re delighted that all proceeds from the sales will go to the charity FoodCycle.”

The deadline for choosing the illustrations is 9 June.
