TalkSport presenter Andy Gray has settled his phone hacking case against News of the World publisher News Group for £20,000.

Gray, whose legal costs will also be paid, was one of five cases due to go to court next January over claims that his phone was hacked.

Sienna Miller reached a similar agreement with News Group for five times this amount.

The company has set aside up to £20million to pay off claimants it believes have a reasonable chance of winning their court cases.

Other people who claim their phones were hacked by News of the World are MP Chris Bryant, actor Jude Law and football agent Sky Andrew.

News International said in a statement: "News Group Newspapers announces today that it has reached an agreement with Andy Gray to pay him £20,000 in damages plus undisclosed costs.

"This concludes the action Andy Gray was taking against NGN over voicemail interception in relation to the News of the World."

Well that certainly helps to lower the bar for future claims - a reasonable outcome for the Murdoch empire...aren't they still his employers?

Interesting that NoW are happy to announce a payment of only £20,000 while not confirming the £1m claim allegedly paid out to Max Clifford.

So with a £20m compensation fund are they saying there are another 20 Max Cliffords or another 1,000 Andy Grays out there?
