A teenage recluse who rarely left his bedroom has been arrested by police on suspicion of masterminding the global hacking group LulzSec.

Ryan Cleary was nabbed by a joint team comprising officers from Scotland Yard and the FBI who obtained a “significant amount” of material from the raid.

Cleary, who was described as a loner and computer obsessive by friends and family, could now face extradition to the United States.

LulzSec, the hacking collective, had become infamous in recent months for masterminding a number of high profile attacks on the likes of Sony and the CIA.
