News International servers hacked this morning

News International servers hacked this morningNews International servers hacked this morning

The servers of News International used to upload digital content were hacked at 2am today in what is believed to be retaliation for negative coverage of Lulzsec in The Sun.

It has been confirmed that the media organisation was affected for several hours by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, in which repeated demands are made on the server.

The hack did not delay publication of the newspaper, but did lead to postponement of content going online.

Although it is not known if the hacking group was involved in the activity, some hackers have taken offence at the coverage of Lulzsec, which they believe is biased.
