One of the leading characters in the controversial Kilmarnock-based BBC Scotland documentary – The Scheme – is complaining that neighbour-power has forced him out of his “plush new £300,000 pad”.

In a claimed “exclusive” by Marc Deanie, The tabloid reported: “Recovering junkie Marvin Baird, 31, had been ‘happy as Larry’ after moving into the sprawling gaff with fiancée Dayna McLaughlin, 20.

“But that all changed this week when furious neighbours told The Scottish Sun how The Scheme stars' arrival had made their lives a misery. “They planned to erect barbed-wire to beef up security and even started a petition to get rid of the pair, from Kilmarnock's tough Onthank estate.“ The redtop quoted Baird as saying: "We don't want to cause any problems for people in our street so we decided it was best to move for a while." The Scottish Sun said his agent - convicted heroin trafficker Jonathon Tolland - had moved the couple from their Kilmarnock bedsit to the house in the leafy Glen Noble estate in Cleland, Lanarkshire. The tabloid pointed out: “It boasts four bedrooms, a games room and a £10,000 Jacuzzi complete with a TV. But they're leaving all that behind by flitting to a flat in Glasgow next week. “Marvin said: ‘We've loved it in the new house and we were getting used to the Jacuzzi. But we think this is for the best’. “And he warned neighbours: ‘We'll be back when things have calmed down’. Marvin also revealed he is in talks with Channel 4 to make another telly show. “He said: Hopefully once people have seen that, they'll know we're not as bad as people have made out’."
