A new website to promote the works of Agatha Christie has been commissioned by brand management company Chorion and developed by Tangent One.

The new site allows fans to plot their own locations of where each of Christie’s plots took place all around the world, through ‘Christie Maps’, allowing users to pick a book and see significant locations mentioned within.

The maps also allow users to choose real life events, general travels or the route of Christie’s 1922 world tour, including the hotels in which she stayed.

Members can also plot their own locations on the maps and get in contact with other fans through the site which has been developed to include an improved structure, design and navigation.

Currently there are around 66,000 registered users of the site from across the UK, USA, Japan and Germany.
“Agatha Christie remains one of the most popular authors of all time,” said Tamsen Harward, VP brands and marketing, Literary Estates at Chorion. “What we’ve created in the new site is a way for fans of her work to interact more deeply with Agatha Christie as a person and her works and get to know more about her fascinating life – and how the locations within it inspired her work.

“The new site has a much more modern and intuitive look and feel, and is much easier to navigate – a definite hit with our visitors of all ages.”

Paul Simpson, account director: “The Agatha Christie site already had a vibrant community and we wanted to do as much as we could to get that community further involved and interested with Christie’s work. We also wanted to do more to nurture that community and encourage them to revisit the site, and we think the maps, which will continue to grow and develop, are a great way to do that. We’ve worked hard to make the site as easy as possible to use and the design has a great vintage yet timeless quality to it.”
