A journalism lecturer who conducted an experiment into blogging on Facebook had now made his debut as an author.

In an article by Sarah Bould on the media website Holdthefrontpage , it is revealed  that  Paul Bradshaw has  co-written:  ‘Online Journalism Handbook: Skills to Survive and Thrive in the Digital Age’, with journalist Liisa Rohumaa.

Paul is a reader in online journalism at Birmingham City University, and a visiting professor at City University’s School of Journalism in London.

He has just completed a month-long experiment into using Facebook as a platform for his blogs.

And now the experiment has come to an end,  Paul has decided to revert to his original website  - onlinejournalismblog.com - as he feels there is  little opportunity for long-term traffic on Facebook.

In a blog about the outcome of the Facebook experiment, Paul wrote: “There are too many drawbacks for most to move completely to Facebook. It simply leaves you too isolated, too ephemeral, and too vulnerable to changes in Facebook’s policies.”

Though he will post his main blogs on OJB he will still use Facebook for shorter posts, polls and links.

Though this is the first book published under his name, Paul has contributed to other books.

The Online Journalism Handbook is available on Amazon.
