The Scotsman’s online editor Alan Greenwood is to join McGann Media Associates to launch a new communications practice.

Greenwood will join Stuart McGann, founder of McGann Media Associations to launch McCann Greenwood Communications in Stirling, which will handle public affairs and PR contracts for clients such as McAdam King and Dunfermline Delivers.
Greenwood has overseen the Scotsman’s website for the last four years, which has included the launch of its iPhone app, while having also served as deputy news editor of The Scotsman newspaper.

Greenwood was also formerly editor of The Helenburgh Advertisers and multimedia editor of The Birmingham Post.

Greenwood said: "It’s been my privilege to edit scotsman.com and to work with some really talented journalists. However, the opportunity to forge a partnership with Stuart was too good to turn down.

“In a short period of time McGann Media has built an impressive client roster and proved there is scope for a fresh media venture to thrive despite uncertain economic conditions."

McGann Media will become McGann Greenwood Communications on Monday 18 July.
