Cornish design and innovation company, Sea Communications, has won a contract to support international charity Stop The Traffik (STT) in its efforts to stop human trafficking.

According to Business Cornwall, Sea Communications beat agencies from across the country in a pitch to design a new website for the charity.

STT is a growing global movement fighting to prevent the sale of people, protect the trafficked and prosecute the traffickers.

Sea will use crowdsourcing technology and mapping tools that it developed during its work with Dott (Design of the Times) Cornwall on the New Work Cornwall and Big Design Challenge projects.

“We are delighted to be working with Stop The Traffik in the development of a unique global crowdsourcing website to encourage activism against human trafficking and help them create a global movement,” director Robert Woolf told Business Cornwall.

“Trafficking is a growing problem and between two to four million men, women and children are trafficked across borders and within their own country every year.

“It’s quite shocking to think that the trade that earns twice as much worldwide revenue as Coca Cola, so the opportunity to help is something that we’re all keen to do.”
