The University of Leeds is to create a design framework for graphic design, web design and development and also video production services.

The framework will be made-up of several operators, and have a combined budget of £4,500,000 over a four-year-period, during which time, framework agencies will be tasked with the enhancement of the quality and impact of all marketing and communications materials and channels, while also achieving a more coherent and consistent approach across all of the university’s communications,.

The agencies will act as ‘guardians’ of the University’s brand, working closely with the internal marketing and communications teams to implement guidelines around identity management, web design and development and video production projects.

The University currently has a design requirement for traditional print materials such as posters, leaflets, information packs, course brochures and banners, and, to a lesser extent, campaign and branding projects, although it anticipates an emphasis on digital distribution and more online and digital media projects in the future.

The university is currently developing its value proposition and key messages, as well as its identity management guidelines and expects to roll out a content management system across the University in the next three years.

The framework will run across three lots, the first for graphic design will have a budget of £2,600,000, with the first year expected to spend around £650,000. Lot 2 will include web design; with a budget of £1,400,000 over the length of the contract, and a first year spend of around £350,000. The third lot for video production will have a total budget of £550,000 and a first year sped of around £150,000.

Requests to participate should be made by 1 September with requests to participate being sent out around 30 September.
