Several universities, including DeMontfort, Leeds Met, Manchester Met and Cardiff have announced a PR partnership with the PRCA.

The scheme will begin with the start of the new academic year, and will offer PR and communications students at each of the universities, offering free access to the member’s online training courses.

In all, 11 universities involved are Bournemouth, Buckinghamshire New, Cardiff, DeMontfort, Greenwich, King’s College London, Leeds Met, Lincoln, London College of Arts, Manchester Met and Westminster.

The communications teams at the Universities will also become members of the PRCA.

Students are being asked to register through the PRCA website.

Francis Ingham, chief executive of the PRCA, commented: “This is another step forward for the PRCA. This initiative provides PR agencies and in-house teams with the opportunity to network with the practitioners of the future. We are looking to nurture the very best talent the UK has to offer –maintaining  the UK’s reputation as the global hub for PR expertise.

“Additionally, corporate membership will be extended to university in-house communications teams, along with all the prized benefits this provides.”
