Devilfish creates new look for cinema giant StudioCanal

StudioCanal redesigned StudioCanal redesigned

Devilfish has created a new visual identity for film production and distribution giant StudioCanal.

The redesign comes as Optimum Releasing and Kinowelt, subsidiaries of StudioCanal in the UK and Germany, are renamed as StudioCanal from this month.

Devilfish was briefed to create a look that was "classic and timeless". The rebrand includes new logotypes, brand guidelines and a cinema ident to precede all StudioCanal titles.

The agency created the light and glass image by building a large installation of 25 glass panels and projecting light onto them generated by StudioCanal titles.

Richard Holman, founder and senior creative director at devilfish, said: “We wanted to create a timeless, evocative and iconic ident that will carry audiences from the humdrum life they have left behind outside the cinema into the magical, emotional and dramatic world of the movies for many years to come.”
