New Chester agency Rome Online has created an iPhone and Android app for the Rugbydump website ahead of the sport's World Cup getting underway on Friday.

The Rugbydump app will house video highlights and news from the sport's showpiece tournament. It has been styled as an interactive guide to the competition and host country New Zealand.

Gareth Martin, owner of Rome Online, said: "The smarthphone app is the future programme and magazine format for international sporting events, particularly those that are hosted on the other side of the world and lose audience on the basis of the international time difference.

"Rugby fans will be able to keep up to speed with the news, scores and highlights."
