Channel 4 to install 65 CCTV cameras in Essex school for new documentary

The SchoolThe School

Channel 4 is to take the idea of a fly on the wall documentary up a gear with plans to install an impressive 65 fixed cameras throughout Passmores School in Essex.

Educating Essex has been commissioned to elicit what modern day life is like for teachers and pupils at a modern day British comprehensive school – from the canteen to the staff room.

Focusing on final year students as they prepare for their GCSE’s the documentary will attempt to establish what pressures are being placed on young people in light of further education reform and whether there has been a breakdown in deference as evidenced by recent rioting.

The first episode of the four part series will air on September 22 at 21:00.
