Facebook users unhappy with latest profile changes

Recent changes made to Facebook have not gone down well with many of the website’s users, after it changed the look and feel of its profile pages.

The changes include the news ticker now running top stories instead of friend postings with updates running down the right hand side and event reminders being moved to a less prominent space.

Many users have used the site to announce this displeasure at the changes, something that the website itself has recognised.

A spokesperson for Facebook commented: "Our goal with these improvements is to make it easier for people to keep up with their friends no matter how frequently or infrequently they visit Facebook — and to make sure they never miss important updates. We're constantly working to make Facebook better. We're gathering and evaluating feedback on all of our products and will continue to make improvements over time."

Further changes are also expected to be announced by Facebook.

My understanding is that Facebook was initially designed to help friends and family keep in touch and updated on their lives. Innovation is important but sometimes change is not embraced as openly as expected/wished. Research we've done using Social Radar complements this article. http://infegy.com/buzzstudy/facebook-redesign/
