BBC and ITV are in talks having both commissioned programmes entitled ‘Love Life’.

The BBC’s programme will feature former Doctor Who actors David Tennant, Billie Piper and David Morrisey, while ITV’s Manchester-based programme has yet to be cast.

The two broadcasters are now in discussions, with one possibly being forced to change the title.

ITV's director of drama commissioning told the Press Association: Laura Mackie said: "Love Life is a tender and funny story about grown-ups who refuse to grow up.

"We're delighted with Bill's scripts as they are warm, romantic and comic as he analyses how good people come to terms with the trials of love. We're delighted to commission Love Life for ITV1 viewers."
