Guardian News & Media Group is reviewing its advertising account for the Guardian and Observer newspapers.

According to Brand Republic, the move comes just a few months after the group announced a digital-first strategy, and follows the launch this week of its iPad edition. The group's focus on digital may impact on the agency eventually chosen to run the group account.

Rainey Kelly Campbell, Roalfe/Y&R and Bartle Bogle Hegarty are pitching alongside incumbent Wieden & Kennedy, which has held both Guardian and Observer accounts since 2007.

Overseeing the pitching process will be former group managing director at ITV, David Pemsel, hired as stategic consultant by Guardian News & Media Group. Before joining ITV Pemsel was managing partner at London agency, St Luke’s.
