Mystery entry to PACE competition: pants or prize-worthy?

Mr X's logo suggestionMr X's logo suggestion

Following not for profit organisation PACE launching a competition to create a new logo as part of its rebrand as the Birmingham Publicity Association (BPA), one entry has left an impression.

The design was put forward by a mysterious ‘Mr X’ – although frequent commenter on The Drum Mr X has vehemently denied that it was him.

Unfortunately, the competition is only open to design students and professionals living in the West Midlands area (and we're not sure that genitals make a great logo), so if the phantom Mr X is not unmasked The Drum isn’t sure that the talented entry will be able to make the shortlist. We have some ‘golden rules’ of our own: in fact, we have heard that PACE chairman Steve Price is very much like The X Factor’s Louis Walsh.

If you think you can create a better - preferably non-penis related - logo, enter the competition for the chance to win a year’s free membership of the BPA, entry into the 2012 Cream Midlands Awards, a year’s subscription to The Drum, and an iPad.

For more information on the competition and details on how to enter, see our original article.

This is just inspired! It's that moment of joy when the idea hits you. I love how the balls (B) represent birmingham - the melting pot where it all begins. The penis (P) is publicity - the way of getting the news 'out there'. And finally the juice (A) is association - and associates are the juices flowing and spilling over, to create more new entities and inspire the masses.

BRAVO! competition closed i'd say Steveo.

And for the record this wasn't me either. Though I do have a penchant for doodling comedy cocks over peoples work and in various note pads/diaries etc...

I can't help but wonder what it would look like in colour?

Beautiful! Yes I think Mr X should have got out his chunky marker and got some colour into the 'jewels'!

Come on Mr X. Your idea has the potential for real 'growth'. All it needs is a little 'fleshing out'.
