BBC Radio 4 promote science shows with devilfish TV spot

A TV spot to promote two BBC Radio 4 science shows,’ The Life Scientific’ and ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’ has been created by devilfish.

The BBC had been looking for a route which would appeal to the younger end of the station’s target audience.

Liv Slack, creative marketing executive at BBC, said: “The team at devilfish are wonderfully creative and a great bunch to work with. Their response to this brief is both innovative and charming and we’re delighted with the end result which will really strike a chord with the audience.”

devilfish looked to create an animation that would convey a sense of emotion and sympathy through anthropomorphism with the end line 'Science comes to life on BBC Radio 4'.

Ed Edwards, executive creative director of devilfish, said: "With this film, we wanted to create some magic for Radio 4, and we are extremely pleased with the final animation. The characters were brought to life in a beautiful emotive way with a hugely talented team."
