An infographic created by OnlineEducation.net has found that students who use Facebook to share links or check up on friends tend to have higher GPAs than those who use Facebook to make status updates.

The research also found that the average student spends 106 minutes a day on Facebook, with students’ GPAs dropping .12 points for every 93 minutes above the average time spent on Facebook a day.

However, the infographic states that although there is a relationship between extensive Facebook use and a drop in the GPA held, it does not mean that either one causes the other.
