Dave Hodgson, former director at Marketing Birmingham, has died at the age of 41.

Hodgson, who left Marketing Birmingham to move to Dubai with his family where he worked on marketing and PR for the Reydan Racecourse, died following his battle with skin cancer on New Year’s Eve.

Friends have paid tribute to Hodgson on Twitter.

Alice Haine wrote: “RIP Dave Hodgson. It was wonderful to meet him – such an inspirational man. My thoughts are with Tatty Hodgson and the rest of the family.”

Sian Roberts tweeted: “Dave was an amazing friend to me and will never be forgotten xx.”

Marketing Birmingham had yet to comment at the time of writing.

I was lucky enough to work for Dave for 4 years and he was truly a one off. He had strategic vision, artistic understanding and was a relentless PR machine in himself! he will be sadly missed x
