Scottish Government promotes anti-smoking helpline and going green in new campaigns

The Scottish Government has launched two new campaigns, created by Leith Agency, Carat, Story, Stripe Communications and Whitespace, promoting an anti-smoking helpline and its Overarching Greener movement.

The ‘Go Greener Together’ campaign unites recycling, food waste, eating in season and home energy helpline messages, and will cover broadcast, print and digital platforms, partnerships and field marketing.

A new 40 and 30 second TV advert, created by The Leith Agency, shows a community using towels and sheets to create the image of a tree from their balconies and windows. A website was created by Whitespace.

Pauline Lamb, senior strategic marketing manager at the Scottish Government, said: “The Overarching Greener campaign encourages us all to work together to make a difference to create a cleaner, greener Scotland.

“By delivering an integrated consumer campaign and working with key stakeholders, partners and agencies - we can encourage the nation to assess their own green credentials and ultimately get on board with making Scotland a greener, cleaner place to live”.

The anti-smoking campaign for Smokeline, which launched yesterday, will feature TV, radio and online advertising, all created by Story. The campaign will also include a community engagement roadshow.

Public Health Minister Michael Matheson, who launched the campaign in Glasgow, said: "We know that the majority of people in Scotland who smoke want to stop, which is the single biggest step someone can take to improve their health.

"There's a huge range of support available - from face-to-face or online to nicotine replacement therapy and group sessions - and Smokeline can help put people in the right direction."

What a load of old crap. Is there a rule by which all Scottish Government work has to have some cheesy backing track and sun bleached grade?

And didn't Story win the green cluster? So why are Leith doing their ads?
