The Lighthouse, Scotland's centre for design and architecture, has appointed Tangent Graphic to create its new website.

The Glasgow based creative agency will design and build the website, which is due to launch early this year.

Tangent aims to create a website which will show the standing of the Lighthouse as a leading body for the promotion of architecture, design and the creative industries.

David Whyte, Tangent director, said: "The Lighthouse has always been a vital element of the design landscape in Scotland. At the moment it doesn't have an online presence at all, so it's great to be involved at the early stages of re-establishing the venue.

“We've had quite a lot of involvement with the Lighthouse over the years. We won a creative community award from the venue and then carried out a series of branding workshops for them, so it's great to continue that relationship with a new team. There is a level of expectation that needs to be met for a job of this stature, and it's a challenge that we are all really looking forward to meeting."
