John Campbell, head of mobile at Precedent, looks at what stage we have reached in the developing world of mobile payments, and explains why using your mobile as a wallet will be a game changer by 2013.

John provides insight into developments in mobile payment technology, looking at Google Wallet, which connects credit cards to phones, and near field communications, which allows for contactless payment. Indeed, John believes that NFC and contactless technologies are the way forward in purchasing, but that “retailers and the public need to embrace the technology for it to become mainstream.”

The article suggests that now is the time to embrace mobile as the new method of payment, and explores the opportunity for technology providers to obtain differentiation and market lead.
