Getty Images is again running its annual Mishmash competition, asking film and music creatives to produce a short story, video art, music video or mini documentary using high res content from across the entire Getty Images collection.

The public are invited to put their own spin on the work that is available from the Getty galleries, to create an entry between one to three minutes long.

The global first prize is $5,000, while there will also be a regional winner for The Americas; Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Asia Pacific earning $2,000, as well as a country winner prize at $1,000. The winner of the public vote will also win $1,000.

Judges for the competition have been split into three panels: Europe/ EMEA, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. These include Toshiya Kono, creative director for Hakuhodo DY media partners in Japan; Jim Moffatt, VP managing director of R/GA in the UK; and Alessandra Lariu, CEO of shout and co-founder of SheSays.

The competition is open until 29 February 2012 with winners announced on 19 March.
