A graffiti artist who adorned the walls of Facebook’s offices in return for share options now stands on the cusp of a £126m payday.

David Choe was invited to decorate Facebook’s Palo Alto offices in May 2005 with mural artwork for just a few thousand bucks, but chose instead to invest in the firm despite thinking it “ridiculous and pointless”.

With Facebook’s $100bn flotation now looming however that stock is now worth a cool £126m, putting Chloe in a select band of 1,000 Facebook employees who will become instant millionaires.

Choe was handed the lucrative commission by Facebook founder mark Zuckerberg, who will retains a 28% stake in the company.
