A spoof campaign for Haribo, Pringles and KFC has been voted The Chip Shop Awards Ad of the Week.

The ‘Stop Childhood Obesity’ campaign by Creative Vein has been entered in the Best Consumer Ad or Campaign category for the awards.

In the run-up to the entry deadline on 16 March, the Chip Shop Awards website is carrying out a weekly public vote to recognise some of the best ads entered so far.

The Chip Shop Awards are an international creative awards scheme with no limits or rules - it's all about ideas. The work need not have run and the creator need not work for the client, and categories include ‘best reject’ and ‘best work for any brand you haven't a hope of winning’.

You can start casting your votes for next Friday’s Ad of the Week now.

Last week’s winner was a spoof ‘Free Snowman’ ad for Ikea, created by freelancer Steve Lownes.

The reason this is so good is that everyone gets it. Whatever country, language or age group. Well done!

This kind of thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The agency has taken this stance and is yet quite happy to work for Swizzels Matlow. Perhaps they're jealous they don't have some bigger clients on their books rather than actually caring about the issue?

@wjuts10726 Don't think you're really getting the point of the Chip Shop Awards... It's design-led, so I doubt this agency are saying they're anti-obesity as such - it's just a clever (and very well-executed, I might add) idea. The awards also mean you can create something completely free of boundaries, so who you do and don't actually work for certainly doesn't come into it. I think it's a great design - well done, guys!
