According to Google Ad Planner The Drum is now the best read media and marketing B2B website in the UK.
The figures show that The Drum has enjoyed dramatic growth over the last 12 months and has now overtaken Brand Republic and Marketing Week in terms of overall traffic.
Ad Planner’s estimated figures of overall traffic show that thedrum.co.uk has welcomed monthly 320,000 unique visitors from the UK since the turn of the year.
This outstrips Brand Republic (290,000), Marketing Week (290,000) and New Media Age (120,000).
Mick Style, managing director of media buyer MEC, said: “If I were The Drum I would be feeling pretty good about these figures. They are benefiting from being a non-subscription service and to overtake Brand Republic in user numbers is quite an achievement.”
Gordon Young, editor of The Drum, said: "This represents a great achievement by The Drum team. We are now routinely running 50 news items a day, written by journalists in Glasgow, London and even the US.
"I believe what has really struck a chord amongst readers is our editorial mix. Our news does not split the industry into artificial silos such as advertising, PR, digital or marketing. We simply focus on great marketing news. And this policy of integrating the content reflects the increasingly integrated nature of the media and marketing industry itself."

Nice one! Well done The Drum!

Your figures are way off the mark, it should be 320K unique visitors (estimated cookies) for the whole of last year NOT since the turn of the year as stated.

The figures quoted are based on Google's Unique visitors (estimated cookies) which Google says is "the approximate number of cookies on a site over a specific month as determined by DoubleClick Ad Planner's algorithms." See more here http://bit.ly/yrGnZ9

Although these figures are impressive, Brand Republic also has its 'Marketing' and 'Campaign' brands - I bet if you use DoubleClick to compare The Drum figures with all three Brand Republic would have almost triple the audience figures.

Good to see the drum coming back

Given how I know pretty much no one who subscribes to Brand Republic now it has a paywall, I think this is probably spot on.

Bold words. Worth noting that it was reported today that the Times now has 119,255 digital subs. I know lots of people who subscribe to Brand Republic and to dismiss a site due to a paywall is ill advised.
