Research by web video and analytics provider Ooyala has found that tablet viewers tend to be far more engaged than desktop viewers, being 45% more likely to complete at least 75% of videos played.

The Q4 Video Index report found that videos are ten times more likely to be shared through Facebook than Twitter.

It was discovered that video consumption on iOS and Android mobile devices has grown dramatically, while Google TV has also grown, with its share of video plays increasing by 91%.

Video plays on tablets, mobile devices and connected TVs nearly doubled in Q4 from Q3, with mobile projected to have a 376% annual growth in share of video plays, and tablet projected to be 528%. Connecting TVs and gaming consoles are expected to rise by 384%.
