A campaign against cannabis farming has been commissioned by Merseyside Police, having tasked Origin Creative with its development.
The campaign aims to focus on the harm and social consequences through cannabis farmking, and will run for a period of six months through activity such as online video and guerrilla in order to recruit citizens to inform the police and report any farms in their communities.
A high street pop-up shop will begin the activity, to grow awareness of the issue.
Matt Casey creative director for Origin, commented: "Many people think cannabis is something of a danger-free drug and if they consider harmful consequences it will be the damage to the physical or mental health of the users. We're asking the public to think about other nasty side effects - like contributing to gangs that fund prostitution and people trafficking or the other ways in which such farms spoil communities."
The campaign is part of Operation Broadley which will bring together North West forces working in partnership to combat the problem.
