Roses Creative Awards chairman's address: Danny Brooke-Taylor

With the Roses Creative Awards currently open for entry, Danny Brooke-Taylor, executive creative director of Dare, who will be chairman of this year's judging panel, offers an explanation of what he will be looking for from this year's entries.

Hello

I spent 12 happy years, working in Manchester so I know what it’s like.

Great opportunities don’t come knocking, you have to create them.

Thinking of brilliant work is only half of it.

Actually making it, is where the battle truly lies.

But no-one said it was going to be easy, and this is no time for excuses.

The Roses judges will be looking for truly great work.

Great work that is geographically distinguishable only by the agency’s postcode.

World class work. That’s it.

As they say, “It’s not where you’re from, it’s where you’re at”.

I look forwarding to seeing you all on the night, and meeting up with some old friends.

Good luck.

Danny
